Jack Wilshere will play the remainder of the season at the Danish AGF

Copenhagen, Feb 21 Former Arsenal player and England international Jack Wilshere, 30, who has been without a club for eight months, will play the remainder of the season at the Danish AGF. Wilshere made his debut at Arsenal at the age of 16, becoming one of the great promises of English football, but his career has been marked by injuries. The midfielder left Arsenal in 2018 to sign for West Ham, from where he moved to Bournemouth, in the English second division and where he stayed until last summer. Wilshere, who had trained with Arsenal in recent months, has been capped 34 times by the senior team and played for England in the 2014 World Cup. “I am at a point in my career where I need to start after a difficult period , and that possibility has been given to me by the AGF. I am very grateful and I will do everything I can to help the team,” the player said in a statement. Wilshere stressed that he wanted a “change of scenery” and that he is missing some shooting, although he is in good physical shape. The Danish club reported that the agreement includes an option so that the contract can be extended in the event that both parties so wish. With four games remaining in the first phase of the Danish league, AGF is in seventh place, four points behind the places that give access to the league for the title. EFE alc/egw/ea
