Jack Sweeney, Creator of Elon Musk’s Private Jet Tracker, Joins Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads Platform

Jack Sweeney, who created an account that tracks US billionaire Elon Musk’s private jet, has joined Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads platform after suspending his Twitter account last year.

“Illongate has arrived in Threads!” Sweeney said in his first post on Twitter’s rival Threads platform on Thursday. And the number of followers of Sweeney’s account on Threads reached more than 21,000 as of Saturday morning.

The Elongate account tracks the movements of Elon Musk’s private jet using data available in the public domain.

Musk’s Twitter company suspended the Elongate account in December, and the billionaire threatened legal action against the account’s operator after he said a “crazy stalker” had mistakenly tracked his son.

Millions of users joined Meta-owned Threads within hours, including prominent personalities such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The Threads platform seeks to take advantage of the weak state of Twitter after a series of chaotic decisions taken by Musk. Sweeney, Twitter or Meta did not immediately respond to requests from Reuters for comment.
