Jack Souty at 7th Heaven in Music from Morhange to Créhange

It was in June 2018. Jack Souty, president of the Morhange theater company “The Gourmands say”, delivered the fruit of long-term work: a musical. He composed the lyrics and the music. Has hesitated on the title. Then it was found: it will be “The Gray Moon”.

We knew her redhead, blonde, black, immaculate white, but who is this gray moon? The story of a completely different world, ruled by a black queen, Circe, where love does not exist. But Tara, his daughter, will disobey him. She falls in love with a prince who already has a bride …

I knew how to do plays and I thought I would write this musical without thinking it would take on this magnitude.

The applications were numerous. Thirty-seven artists were selected for the musical: nine dancers, seven singers and twenty-one actors (including three who will sing). They all come from different sectors: Nancy, Forbach, Morhange, Thionville. Emilie Richter, of Juvelize, provides the choreography.

Premiere in 2020

Originally scheduled for February 9, 2019, the premiere of “The Gray Moon” has been postponed due to the delay in recording the album. The curtain raiser was to take place in April or May 2019. But it was only a little over a year later, in January 2020, that the actors took to the stage of the Saint-Avold cultural center. For their premiere in front of nearly 800 spectators.

Six dates were scheduled, including the Espace Créanto in Créhange, including the apotheosis at the Arènes de Metz. But the Covid has been there …
