Jack Hermansson, 35, was back in the Octagon after over a year’s absence.

Then the Swedish UFC fighter won against the shooting star Joe Pyfer.

– You can’t just put in one of the younger guys and think they’re going to run over me, says the 35-year-old from Uddevalla.

The last time Jack “The Joker” Hermansson fought in the UFC he lost to Roman Dolidze.

That was in December 2022.

The 35-year-old has since been injured. The reason turned out to be an inflammatory disease of the spine.

In the night’s comeback against shooting star Joe Pyfer, the main fight at the UFC gala in Las Vegas, the Swede stepped in as a fairly strong underdog.

“No pushover”

The American Pyfer is fairly new to the UFC circus but has already made a name for himself with his hard punches. He started best in the first two rounds and had Hermansson in a real swing.

But then the 27-year-old hooked and “The Joker” got more and more to say. In the last round, the Swede wrestled his opponent down and secured a points victory.

– I am not a pushover. You can’t just put one of the younger guys in and think they’re going to run over me, Hermansson told ESPN afterward.

It was the 35-year-old’s 24th victory in 32 games in his professional career. He was previously ranked as the twelfth best middleweight in the UFC and the victory was extremely important to not fall out of the top lists.

Jack Hermansson was born in Uddevalla but has been based in Norway for many years. That’s why he always dresses in a Swedish-Norwegian flag.
