The filming of the Borderlands movie will start soon in Hungary. Eli Roth (Hostel) will direct the implementation of the Borderlands video game franchise from Gearbox Software.
The actors announced so far include Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis and Kevon Heart in the role of Roland.
As has now been announced, Jack Black will also be involved in the Borderlands film. As a claptrap.
As one could already suspect and can also be read from Roth’s statement (see below), Black will probably only take on a speaking role, while the robot itself should be created on the computer.
The director told Variety about the renewed collaboration with Black:
“I’m so excited to get back together with Jack, this time in the admission booth. Claptrap is the funniest character in the game and Jack is perfect for bringing him to the big screen. “
