A family who lost three siblings and struggled to find appropriate help during their grieving process, has created their own bereavement service for siblings called Jacinta’s Smile. Aishleen O’Toole and her sisters founded Jacinta’s Smile following the unexpected death of their sister Jacinta due to a brain aneurysm in 2016. The family realised there was no dedicated service for those who had lost a sibling, and as they had experienced grief through the loss of multiple siblings, they took action. The service provides therapy, support and fun activities for individuals up to the age of 30 who have lost a sibling. The family now uses their personal experiences to provide a unique service that they wish had been available to them, and aims to help those dealing with loss feel less alone.
