It was a debut for Jach for an English club. The Pole signed a contract with Crystal Palace in the winter of the 2017/18 season, but he did not make his way to the London team. Throughout the spring of 2018, he was only once on the team’s side, but he did not appear on the pitch against Manchester United. Then he was loaned three times: to Rizespor, Sheriff Tiraspol and in the last season to Raków Częstochowa.
He returned to Crystal Palace ahead of the current tournament and worked with the team for a preparation period. For the first Premier League match against Southampton, the 26-year-old missed the 18th match. Unexpectedly, however, manager Roy Hodgson put on him from the first minute in the match against Bournemouth in the League Cup.
Jach appeared on the left side of the defense and presented himself decently. Not only that, if you were to follow the Sofascore data, he was Palace’s best player in this match, with an average score of 7.6 (for comparison, Nya Kirby, the second rookie in this game, had only 6.2). It is definitely a plus for the Pole that he played the full 90 minutes and that the defense kept a clean sheet.
90 minutes of the match did not decide the winner, so penalty kicks were needed (there was no extra time). Bournemouth players turned out to be better in them, winning in an unusual ratio of 11:10! Jach came tenth (!) In line to the penalty spot and he confidently used his penalty.
