This week, the first Yiwei EVs from car manufacturer JAC rolled off the production line. This is an important – and perhaps decisive – milestone in the (young) history of electric vehicles. It is the very first mass-produced electric car with a sodium-ion battery.
Why is this important?
Today, one of the main criticisms of electric vehicles is their price. With few exceptions, they are beyond the reach of ordinary people. The industry is trying to slowly bring prices down. And as is so often the case, China is taking the lead.
