In this open letter, J.Cole confides at length about his life, the text was baptized “The Audacity” (audacity in French), the artist returns to his career as a basketball player, his musical career, and on his father role.
Usually very discreet about his private life, J.Cole married his childhood sweetheart Melissa Heholt, he reveals in the last paragraph of his letter that he is the father of 2 boys since 2016, the year of release of his 4th studio album, “4 Your Eyez Only” :
“4 years have passed. During this period I was blessed with the birth of 2 sons__, I learned the art of balancing fatherhood and my career, I had the pleasure of working with many talented artists, I spent 10 magical days recording the Dreamville album in Atlanta and I spent a lot of time and energy sharpening my quill and growing as an artist ”
He remembers in 2016, when he learns that he is going to be a father: “A few weeks ago I learned that I would be a father. It wasn’t a surprise. I had taken steps to change my life for the past two years, and I felt ready “.
In an interview for GQ, in 2019, J.Cole explained that becoming a father was obvious to him: “I changed my life to prepare for starting a family and having a son. I literally changed my life, the place I used to live, the things I did. I changed. So because of that when my son arrived I was ready. I had already made room.“

J.Cole is preparing a new album for us: “The Fall Of”, a sixth album that is long overdue. The rapper has just announced on Twitter, the imminent arrival of the first two singles of the album, “The Climb Back” and “Lion King On Ice”, both of which should be released on Wednesday night (22nd of July) on Thursday (July 23) :
