AKP’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan speaks at his party’s 7th Ordinary Provincial Congress in Van.
Erdogan made the following statements regarding the earthquake in Izmir:
“I wish our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake in Izmir yesterday, and those who were injured by God’s mercy urgent healing. We have 26 deaths, 885 injured, 15 patients in intensive care. We rushed to the aid of our brothers and sisters.
From the moment of the earthquake, we rushed to the rescue of our brothers from Izmir with our ministers, our deputies and our institutions.
I hope we will build and deliver new ones to our citizens whose homes were destroyed as soon as possible. May Allah not harm our nation, our state. “

“The world is experiencing the pain of transition to a new political and economic era. You see how those who think their prosperity and security are threatened are thrown into the swamp of fascism. We keep our economy standing against the troubles of the coronavirus epidemic on the one hand, and the attacks on the other.
We provided unrequited cash support of 40 billion lira. We introduced unprecedented credit and tax incentives. We prepare and implement new incentive packages according to the needs. Such periods are also opportunities for bold decisions and great breakthroughs. They tried to encircle our country, and we responded by opposing our independence and future at the cost of our lives. We respond to those who try to besiege our country from the economic field with a new economic liberation war. Our duty is to cling tightly to our own cause. We will never rely on provocations.
