“I can’t believe it… It feels like a meeting of La France Insoumise”
In front of her, the public is flabbergasted… some people even went to report the incident to the police. So much so that at the end of the performance, gendarmes from the Beaulieu-sur-Mer company showed up behind the scenes to arrest the singer. But without being able to find it. The latter spoke in the columns of the daily: “The gendarmes explained to me that they were there to arrest the artist. They could not succeed, she would have been exfiltrated on her bus. The regulations make that we cannot go in like that. There were long palavers between the manager and the gendarmerie. The city councilor continues: “I can’t believe it … It’s like a meeting of La France Insoumise. If she wants to joke, she just has to drop the song and become a comedian. There has such violence in his words, it’s nonsense,” he said. “We have made efforts to maintain this festival. I find it a shame to tarnish it with comments that have no place here. I am not a pro-Macron, but I would never allow myself to insult him”, continues Roger Roux. And to regret: “Today, we want everything except to hear someone threaten, insult, smear anyone. At the moment, we need to go to festivals to relax, with artists that we like. I, Izïa, didn’t know her. But there were about 1,000 people for her. They may appreciate her as a singer, but not as a commentator on the news.” For their part, the co-producers of Les Nuits Guitares, Directo Productions and Panda Events, expressed themselves in a press release sent by email the day after the events: “Izïa’s words are specific to him.
