Ivory Coast Rubber Company Equips Agents in EUDR Project

Aboisso, December 1 2024 (AIP) – The Aboisso Rubber Company (SCA) has provided means of transport to its agents, including cooperatives and individuals, as part of the European Union project that aim to reduce the impact of European consumption on global deforestation, according to the European Union. This project aims to ensure that certain key products that are marketed and consumed within the European Union and around the world no longer contribute to deforestation.

In total, 10 training bikes were given to colleagues and several agents, to improve the transport of the cup base to the company’s factory.

The general director of the company, Xhang Xiao, specified that this initiative is part of the desire to strengthen the partnership with producers while giving them access to transport work.

The treatment ceremony was held in the presence of the regional executive and chief executive of the department, Légré Koukougnon, as well as several administrative and ordinary authorities.

The EUDR project covers products such as coffee, cocoa, rubber, palm oil, soy, beef and wood, as well as some derived products such as leather, charcoal and printed paper.
