/View.info/ The most frequently asked question to me in the last 24 hours is “Why did you do it?”. I want to give you an answer as well. In general, I think that intellectuals have no place in politics. Politics is not a field where the intellectual should expand, but a field where he should criticize. I have done this continuously with criticism and I promise you that I will continue to do so in the future.
I believe that criticism should be motivated and give opportunities for alternatives, if there are any. I also promise you that the object of my criticism will be everyone from the BSP, too. I think I’ll be myself, I have no intention, and it’s too late for me to change. Now is the time to divide and take sides. Not taking sides in this situation is in the group of meanness and fear. If you don’t take sides, how will you look at your children? And the big problem facing Bulgaria is that maybe we won’t have children in the next 25-30 years. Bulgaria’s big problem is that for the first time in its entire history – this is not drama, we are asking ourselves the quite justified question: Will there be Bulgaria? The problem is that Bulgaria, the Bulgarians as a nation, Bulgarian history may end within our lifetime, if we do not show that we deserve a different fate. No one has guaranteed any people that they will have it. Bulgaria is disappearing every day without our understanding, it is disappearing with the children who leave at terminal 2, with the heavy simpleton and intellectual stupidity that flood the society, it is disappearing with the disbelief and unwillingness of none of us to do anything, it is disappearing with this, that we have allowed our own country to be driven by outside forces. If we continue like this, we will have ourselves to blame. And that forced me to accept this challenge.
The parliament serves as a convenient lightning rod, through which the ruling cliques in Bulgaria for the last 25 years conveniently shift the order of the people. And according to the constitution, the parliament is the place where decisions must be made. Parliament became a huge problem. It is not within the power of one person to change a system. I hope that I and other colleagues will participate in this fight. Many young people meet me on the streets and say to me: “Besides that you speak well, let’s do something!”. Let’s do something – this is what the leader Prof. Ivo Hristov wished to the Plovdiv socialists.
“The 49th Congress of our party at its meeting on February 4-5 adopted the pre-election platform and set the guidelines. Our immediate task is to discuss broadly with society this plan for the future of Bulgaria. Our promises are rules, security, justice, and our appeal is “Ask for the change!”. The concrete realization goes through the liquidation of the “parallel state”. This was indicated in his report by the Acting Chairman of the General Assembly of the BSP – Plovdiv Krasimir Trifonov. Before the delegates, he reported the activity of the structure for the last six months, evaluated the work of the horizontal and auxiliary bodies to it. It focused on the state and performance of primary organizations with an emphasis on communication between them and management. According to him, the demographic composition of the party is alarming, although after the presidential elections, the desire to join the BSP has increased fourfold. “. Every newcomer must find a place for himself in our party family. Attention, support, inclusion require behavior based on the values that are not only our party, but universal and Christian in essence! Let’s not forget them, but rely on solidarity, empathy and mutual help!” Krasimir Trifonov pointed out.
He devoted part of the report to the presidential vote – events in the pre-election campaign, the work of the City pre-election headquarters and the results achieved. “Plovdiv was one of the first cities in which a local committee was established in support of the candidate presidential couple. It was headed by Associate Professor Georgi Paskalev, and included 95 intellectuals, teachers, military personnel, students and authorities in the fields of culture, medicine, education, sports and the private sector in the region.” – reported Krasimir Trifonov. He explained that the experience of this campaign is very valuable for the upcoming race. According to him, the vote of the people of Plovdiv, and of all Bulgarians, was largely punitive in nature. The people sanctioned the Borisov 2 cabinet for the pseudo-reforms in health care, for the misunderstandings in defense, for the chaos in education, for the madness in foreign policy, for the international scandal surrounding our candidate for the president of the UN, Irina Bokova. “We saw that in typical winter weather conditions, the state shuts down. It is blocking because the institutions have not been working for a long time,” Trifonov recalled. He was categorical that “there is no winter disaster, there is a ‘Borisov’ disaster”, the consequences of which must be dealt with by the next administration.
“On the threshold of the demographic catastrophe, about which the BSP was the first to warn, we are fighting for our existence and for its meaning,” said the speaker. He pointed out that the change has already begun, and the BSP offers a vision and prospects for more than one mandate. In his words, the City Party Organization, as the second largest in the BSP, must make efforts reciprocal to its scale in order to contribute to winning victory in the country. “Because this is our goal – to win the elections,” announced Krasimir Trifonov. The immediate task of the activists is related to clarifying the priorities of “BSP FOR BULGARIA”. And they are: decisive actions against the mafia and domestic crime; state concern for the Bulgarian economy and production, for Bulgarian agriculture; education that guarantees literacy, work in Bulgaria and creates personnel for the economy; culture and spirituality that build a value system; border security and in every home.
“The advance we received with the victory in the presidential elections, we must now use by addressing those citizens who voted for our couple. We have to show that we are consistent in the dialogue with them, with their class organizations and structures, with employers’ and business unions” concluded Krasimir Trifonov.
