Magazine Forbes has named Iveth Camila one of the 100 Powerful Women of Mexico for having helped more than 500 adults to register to receive the coronavirus vaccine, as well as helping to transport them to headquarters in these complicated times of pandemic.

Mexico City, July 24 (RT / SinEmbargo / EFE) .- Iveth Camila Ortiz Ramírez, a 12 year old girl originally from Torreón, Coahuila, achieved that more than 500 adults over 60 years old received the COVID-19 vaccine, an action that has earned it to be included in the list of 100 Powerful Women of the country prepared by Forbes Mexico.

The minor offered to help her grandparents, who live in a community far from the Albia ejido, to register on the COVID-19 vaccination list, when she came up with the idea of ​​helping other older adults in the town , they had problems at check-in. Albia is a town in Torreón with less than two thousand inhabitants, where many people do not have access to the Internet.

Iveth Camila managed to get a van with loudspeakers to advise that she could help them sign up for the vaccine for the virus at no cost.

“They don’t have many resources, they don’t have anything to move, they don’t have money, they don’t have someone to register them, so that’s when it occurred to me,” the minor told Televisa.

But the girl’s support did not end with the record. Iveth Camila managed to transport older adults to the vaccination site, after asking her mother for help and other people who wanted to collaborate with the cause.

In addition, the minor contacted the Delegate of the Secretariat of Welfare, Cynthia Cuevas, of the region to make sure that the adults were received and vaccinated.

“We are grateful to the creature. They took us, vaccinated us both times. We are ready ”, says one of the people who was able to receive the antidote thanks to Camila.

After her work paid off, Camila, who says she would like to be a doctor, commented that she will continue to register the rest of the adults in that community and hopes to replicate the same action in other ejidos.

For all this, the little girl has been considered one of the 100 Powerful Women of Mexico. “Iveth Camila, an idea that changes lives”, reads the title of the article by Forbes where its commendable work in helping the most vulnerable in these harsh times of the pandemic is recognized.

COVID-19 IN MEXICO

So far, 58.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, adding one million 376 thousand 213 in the last day. He also specified that 23.12 million people have received the doses necessary to complete the vaccination schedule.

The vaccination program includes, for now, those over 30 years of age, pregnant women, medical and educational personnel, as well as the population over 18 years of age in the states of Sonora, Chihuahua and Baja California, as part of a pilot plan to reopen the border with the United States.

Mexico has so far received a total of 77.42 million doses from six pharmaceutical companies since December 23, 2020.
