This time, as the sun rises, the majestic timeliness of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music and the compositions of the American minimalist Philip Glass will be heard on the seafront on July 30, pulsating with the energy of life and the infinity of time. Performed by Iveta Apkalna, we will hear the closing of Glasha’s opera Satyagraha, dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of the Indian Independence Movement, and the meditative composition Mad Rush, written by Philip Glass in honor of the Dalai Lama’s first visit to North America in 1979. Iveta is also the initiator and artistic director of the International Organ Music Festival “ORGANISMS”, which has been taking place in her hometown Rezekne since 2015, at the Latgale Embassy “Gors”.

The seventh “Jurmala Festival” in Dzintari Concert Hall with five magnificent concerts will take place from July 27 to 31.
