Ivaylo Zahariev and his wife in front of Life: The wedding was a challenge, but it was worth it

The couple tell more details about the ceremony

If we look at life as a film, we would certainly have considerable difficulty in defining its genre. However, the events that fill it, along with the accompanying emotions, are so different that their contrast simply would not fit into the framework of one category. Nevertheless, without any doubt, we can be sure that the most memorable moments in it will be those imbued with love. Naturally, screenwriters have long been aware of the powerful impact romantic scenes have on viewers, which is why they often intertwine them in the main storyline of their productions, attacking their hearts.

However, as a rule, the final captions of most tapes appear on the screen the moment the two main characters finally admit their feelings, discovering happiness in the other’s face. However, this is the main discrepancy between reality and cinema, because in fact the story of the characters does not reach its end, on the contrary, it is just beginning. Just like that of the actor Ivaylo Zahariev and his wife Stanislava, who said “Yes” to each other last weekend at a fabulous ceremony worthy of the limits of glamorous Hollywood. Their story began almost two years ago when they met in the name of a charity, and today they continue to write it, now officially as a family.

As expected, their wedding turned out to be among the leading news of all media in our country, but they chose to tell more details about it exclusively to Life.dir.bg. Let’s now find out more about their special day from themselves:

The wedding is one of the most wonderful events in a person’s life, which, however, requires really serious preparation. In this regard, how long did it take you to plan yours and did it come close to your dreams?

We started the preparations more seriously in the last three months, because we had already postponed the ceremony once because of the pandemic. It was definitely a challenge, but when we saw the end result, we realized that the efforts of both of us were worth it.

Without any doubt, the bride is the most significant figure in any wedding, because she embodies the beauty, elegance and elegance of the fair sex. Naturally, her dress plays a key role in her image. Stanislava, how did you choose your outfit? Follow the current fashion trends, or let your senses guide you?

I am from Asenovgrad, which, as you know, people often call the “City of wedding dresses”. I have been watching their trends since I was a child and I have always enjoyed the beautiful shop windows lined the streets. The dress I chose is the work of designer Stoyan Radichev. I chose him not only because he was a childhood friend of mine, but also because I saw the ambition and hard work with which he grew over the years, reaching a world level in fashion. He used to start in a small denim studio, and today he owns a huge showroom full of elegant outfits. He and I chose mine.

Ivailo, how did you decide on your suit?

I like the British style of dress, so I chose the look of James Bond – the man with the perfect suit on screen. Personally, I have always trusted the Bulgarian brand “Andrews”, so now I looked for everything with them to get the desired appearance.

We are all well acquainted with the old wedding tradition, which has its origins in Britain, which dictates that during marriage the bride must wear something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue. Of course, it has long been found in many other countries, even in our country. Stanislava, did you observe her?

We are not fans of superstition and foreign traditions.

How did you choose the place to officially say “Yes”? Is there a specific reason why you chose him, such as a sentimental memory?

We like the Kabana cinema as a place to meet friends and the entertainment they offer. It connected perfectly with the film concept of our wedding. It was a little fairy-tale-wedding-summer cinema for us and all the guests.

As you just mentioned, in some ways your ceremony was unusual as it went under a pre-selected theme. Could you share how the idea for it was born?

It came somehow naturally given Ivailo’s acting career, along with the place we chose to get married and our passion for cinema and music. The decoration of the event included cinema elements – small “Oscars” for the guests, an old film strip in the decoration and the bouquet, popcorn boxes, 3D glasses and film flaps. The music that sounded at the celebration was chosen by us, and the songs were soundtracks of our favorite productions. All in all, it was a ceremony for two prominent movie buffs.

There are countless reasons that make the moment the newlyweds stand side by side at the altar a truly special experience, but one of them is undoubtedly that they share it with their loved ones. How many guests did you exchange your oaths in front of?

The number of relatives and some of our closest friends was according to the established anti-epidemic measures – up to 60. At the beginning of the ceremony each of us – not only the newlyweds but also the godparents, entered a selected film music performed by the wonderful duo violinists “Rejoice Music “. The tunes were from “The Flintstones”, “Indiana Jones” and Britney Spears’ song “Oops, I did it again”. Can you guess who on which song I walk to the altar? After the unforgettable ceremony, filled with promises to God and the witnesses present, we ended with the long-awaited kiss as the Zahariev family, which was to the music of one of our favorite movies – “The Avengers”.

Were your children among those present?

Yes, they were close to us throughout the organization – from the choice of location through the decoration to the costumes.

How did they react when they found out they were getting married?

All three were even more excited than we were, with Nicole (Stanislava’s daughter) immediately wanting to be a little bride, and the boys wanted to wear the rings.

I wonder what was the thought that went through the minds of each of you after you were declared husband and wife?

Stanislava: I thought, “God, what a beautiful husband I already have!” (laughing)

Ivailo: Maybe I didn’t have a clear thought in my head, because I was looking forward to the pastor saying, “Ivailo, you can kiss your bride.”

In principle, the first dance of the newlyweds is given a special place in the celebration, and the song that sounds through it is usually associated with the story of the two. Which one was yours?

“Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from the movie “A Star is Born”. This is the tape where we both cried a lot and now that we think about it, it’s a lot of fun. The “Rejoice” band, which performed the piece with violins, made it even more magical and unique.

Life is often unpredictable, proving that even the best-prepared plan may not go as we expect. Did you have any unforeseen situations that happened during the wedding?

Definitely a few unforeseen situations came up, but with guests like ours – they turned into fun moments. We had a little wandering and looking at each other, saying to each other hungrily: “Now what?”, But we quickly got out of the situation. For example, no red wine was prepared for the wedding ritual, and the pastor joked about asking for water, which he would turn into wine. Although with a slight delay, a bottle still appeared and everything went according to plan. And with a presenter like Niki Stanoev, everything turned to fun and improvisation.

Are you planning to go on a honeymoon, heading to some beautiful destination where only the two of you can be?

We want to visit Italy or France together. Spain is our favorite destination, but we will wait for the Covid situation to calm down to tour more places at once. We are not looking for relaxation, because we both enjoy getting to know different cultures.

Stanislava, tell me, have you managed to get used to the popularity of Ivailo, who, as an unwritten rule, puts him and his family in the spotlight? Now that you are married, it would be difficult to avoid the media interest that will follow you.

I don’t know if someone who isn’t looking for popularity like me can get used to it, especially the vicious comments from people who haven’t even seen me live and don’t know me. I’m definitely not happy to be called “mistress”, “reason for divorce”, etc., because my parents definitely didn’t raise me that way, so I’m not.

And finally, how do you see yourself after 10 years of married life?

Stanislava: I dream of having a convertible just for Ivailo and me, but I think that in 10 years we will still be driving three or more children (laughs). I will wait a little longer for him.

Ivaylo: I imagine how we managed to move our creative ideas, which for now are just a dream.
