The leader of the BSP in Sofia, Ivan Takov, stated that he has no idea whether he will be punished by the BSP plenum, because the socialist municipal councilors supported Tsvetomir Petrov from the PP for the temporary chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council. However, he talked about rumors of an attempt to sabotage the European elections in June.
“I have no idea, and this is not the important question. For this National Council, we have only received one SMS and one agenda, which is confusing enough, and nothing more. I am hearing extremely disturbing rumors that there was an idea of a reporting-election cycle in the whole of Sofia and this three months before the European elections. This looks like severe sabotage,” said Takov, entering “Positano” 20.
“There was quite a bit of sabotage during the local elections, now if we are going to sabotage the European elections as well, I am beginning to wonder what the goal of some people in the party is,” commented Takov.
A full cycle of reporting elections means the party’s 700 main organizations, 24 district organizations and the City Council will start electing delegates and governing bodies all over again. “In two words – absolute chaos and beheading of the organization. Considering that in a little more than three months such a regular in the party is coming,” said Takov.
When asked if he himself expected to be punished, Takov said: “This is irrelevant to me. We have a decision of the City Council, the local coalition, the group of municipal councilors. We have followed the statute of the BSP to the letter.”
“I don’t wage wars and I never have. As you can see, we have not said a single word in public, even though a torrent of lies has been poured on us for the last 2-3 weeks. This only damages the image of the party, and that’s why you see the electoral result.” , commented the socialist.
He explained that the decision of the National Council, which had not yet been sent to its members, was that it agreed with the decision of the City Council not to sign coalition agreements with PP-DB-SS. “We have this as a decision of the City Council and it has been respected,” he pointed out.
