We will not participate in assemblies and non-coalitions in SOS. This was stated by the chairman of BSP – Sofia Ivan Takov on the occasion of the lack of a majority of any of the parties in the Sofia Municipal Council after the local elections.
“Certainly, our group will work very actively in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, as it has been so far, he commented. – We will seek support for all our policies and ideas and for the realization of the great goals that we clearly set during the election campaign. Everyone in SOS, who recognizes them and thinks they would be useful for the city and the people, is welcome to support us. But we will not make coalitions or assemblies with the aim of participating in the management of the Metropolitan Municipality at any cost.”
Ivan Takov noted that the BSP is the only left-wing party in the Metropolitan Municipal Council. “For this reason, we have no natural partners there, he added. – We will talk with all political groups on certain topics that are important for the city and for the people, in our opinion. We will support any good decision. To those proposals that harm citizens or the city, we will be uncompromising. I expect the colleagues from the other political groups in SOS to clearly state their priorities and see which policies our views coincide with.
The chairman of BSP – Sofia stated that the unprincipled assemblies lead to governance that is not good for the state. “We see it at the national level, he said. – We do not want to participate in another administration of the Capital Municipality, which will not be good for the city and its people”.
Ivan Takov noted with satisfaction that the messages of the Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” in the election campaign were heard by the people. “In the campaign for the local elections, we had a goal and we achieved it. The results prove it, he said. – Our campaign in Sofia was emotional. The ideas that we launched here, in the capital, obviously reached other cities in the country as well. And they gave a good result We showed what the principles of the left are and how we should fight against the injustices. Because the problems we have in Sofia are also shocking.
