He added that in recent weeks he had held talks with various parties, coalitions and associations from the entire spectrum of the left space and was satisfied with the result. “If we go back in time, in 2013 there were 16 parties in the Coalition for Bulgaria,” he recalled. let’s gather all the left parties in a united front against the right. Let’s do what the right cannot. We want to come out united, because it’s high time Sofia has a left-wing government, the people of Sofia deserve it.”
The leader of the BSP – Sofia explained that at the last meeting of the City Council it was unanimously decided in the capital that the socialists would appear in the local elections with a local coalition and he was given a mandate by the members to hold talks with other left-wing parties, coalitions and associations for its formation . He added that at the district conferences held so far, without exception, the formula for the BSP’s appearance in the local elections with a local coalition was adopted.
“I very strongly believe that we will be able to make this coalition and with that start the great left unification from Sofia, said Ivan Takov. – This is the meaning of everything for me – to gather behind our common values, ideas and policies, as a counterpoint of what happened during the last 30 years of right-wing government, not only in Sofia. The leader of the capital’s socialists added that Vanya Grigorova has nominations for mayor of Sofia in almost all regional conferences already held. “Quite naturally, as the chairman of the City Council, my candidacy has also been put forward, he said. – Given that we are forming a local coalition, however, I think that Vanya Grigorova would be the most suitable candidate for mayor of Sofia of the left-wing coalition”.
