/ world today news/ On April 9, 2016, the Regional Conference of the BSP “Vazrazhdane” took place, Sofia. At the beginning of the forum, the following documents were presented and later adopted by a large majority: a political report of the Regional Council on the activities of the organization in the period April 2012-April 2016, a report of the regional control commission, as well as a draft political resolution.
In the subsequent discussion part, which lasted more than 2 hours, a number of prominent members of the Regional Organization took part. “Where is the BSP’s place on the Bulgarian political scene?”, “Where are we?”, “Why does the BSP have such a negative image at the moment?” These and many other questions were just some of the topics covered. The speeches called for the upcoming Party Congress to focus on policies, ideas and priorities. Many members also drew attention to some systemic weaknesses – ignorance and non-compliance with the Program, personnel policy, the loss of the scientific approach, as well as weak media activity.
The second part of the Conference was dedicated to discussing the proposals for members of a number of party bodies such as the Regional, City and National Councils, control committees, Congress delegates, etc. One of the most key decisions of the delegates was the election of a new chairman of the Regional Council – Ivan Takov/pictured/. He received unconditional support and trust as 70 people out of a total of 72 registered delegates voted for him.
The 14th report-election conference ended with an address of thanks to the previous chairman of the organization, Dr. Boyko Marinkov. With his high authority and purely human qualities, he guided us, united us and encouraged us. All members of the regional organization, together with the new chairman etc. Such, they take on the responsible task of continuing the good traditions and working energetically and purposefully for the future successes of the “Vazrazhdane” Region and for confirming the image of the BSP as a party of social justice and the only alternative to the current administration.
The conference unanimously supported the candidacy of Mikhail Mikov for chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP.
