The chairman of BSP – Sofia added that the sacrifice of Vaptsarov, his comrades and thousands of other heroes is the blood tax that Bulgaria pays in order not to be torn apart again after the Second World War, as an ally of Nazi Germany. “July 23 is our connection with the past, from which we draw energy and strength for the future. Vaptsarov’s faith is our faith. The work of Vaptsarov and his comrades is our work, he continued. – Leftist ideas and ideals, the dream of a more just and a better world cannot be destroyed with bullets. Today, Nikola Vaptsarov is the truest – the most lonely, the most loved poet! The light from the Poet breathes and lives in each of us!
