Ivan Takov: The ideological complexism among Bulgarian politicians in recent years is stressful – 2024-02-13 13:38:51

/ world today news/ On national air, a representative insults the citizens – they were brainwashed – phenomenal, said the leader of the BSP – Sofia

The ideological complexism among Bulgarian politicians in recent years is stressful. This was stated by the chairman of BSP – Sofia, Ivan Takov, during his participation in a debate on memory and monuments on bTV. His opponents in the studio were People’s Representative from PP-DB Manol Peykov and media expert Georgi Lozanov.

“When it comes to monuments, they don’t talk about the history and the memory they carry, but about their size – how big they were. That’s not the conversation we should be having about monuments.” This is how Ivan Takov responded to Manol Peykov, who expressed his concern that the Alyosha monument in Plovdiv could be seen from every part of the city.

“Historical reading is very important, but let’s take a practical look at what happened to the Monument to the Soviet Army in Sofia, continued Ivan Takov. – This was a clear example of how the state violates its own laws. The monument to the Soviet Army was cut down absolutely illegally . The competent Bulgarian court showed this with the decision to stop its dismantling. Unfortunately, this happened after the main figures were hacked. State property worth over BGN 20 million was destroyed. And the chopped figures were thrown into the mud in the village of Lozen. This Is it their attitude to history, to culture?!”.

The leader of BSP – Sofia explained that after the preventive measures by the court, the cases continue. Lawyers in some of these proceedings interpret that, given the court’s decision to allow the precautionary measures that stop the dismantling, it can be expected to a high degree that these actions will be declared illegal.

“For 34 years, I have been listening to various politicians speaking on behalf of the people and saying what the citizens wanted. Let’s at least once ask the people officially, through a referendum, what they want,” suggested Ivan Takov, and in response Manol Peykov stated that the citizens have been washed the brain for decades, that’s why it was necessary to act “statewise”.

“On national air, a representative of the people insults the citizens – phenomenal”, commented the leader of the BSP – Sofia.

He recalled that the group of socialists in the SOS has already submitted a report requesting a referendum in Sofia on the Monument to the Soviet Army. “I understood that colleagues in Plovdiv insist on the same for Alyosha. Let’s finally hear the citizens what they want to stop various politicians from speaking on their behalf without asking them, Ivan Takov urged. – The new power has come, supposedly with the intention of changing the way things have been done so far. The referendum will be the first test of whether there will really be change, whether the new government really intends to listen to the citizens. We will comply with the results of such a referendum – people’s vote – vote God”.
