The group of Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” will not be a buffer in the relations of the participants in the National Assembly. This was stated by the chairman of BSP – Sofia and of the group of socialists in SOS, Ivan Takov, after today’s session, which lasted 5 minutes. He added that they will be involved in all meaningful conversations to find a solution to get out of the crisis in the Metropolitan Municipal Council.
“We will be constructive and reasonable, as we have always been, said Ivan Takov. – We are a serious party, the group of the Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” is also serious. And it is not at all serious that there are 20 days between the previous and today’s meeting of SOS, in 18 of them nothing happens, and two days before today’s session they send us a document that looks like a coalition agreement, ask after a few hours to meet, discuss it and support it. The sensible way is another. Here, now there is already a proposal on Monday to start talks. We have two weeks until the next meeting of the SOS. And we will join these talks.”
Ivan Takov recalled that several times from the group of MK “BSP for Bulgaria” expressed their opinion for a rotating chairman of the SOS. “For us, this is not a good option. We see at the national level that such a decision is detrimental to the state, he commented. – We do not want this to be transferred to Sofia as well. Our goal is to implement the good solutions for the city that we propose. Of course, for this to happen, we need 31 municipal councilors. I hope that there will be enough reasonable councilors in the SOS, that we will elect a chairman with the widest possible consensus and implement the good ideas”.
The chairman of the BSP – Sofia categorically stated that so far in no conversation has there been a question of forming a coalition. “I hope that no one has forgotten how many contradictions we had with the PP-DB-SS during the election campaign, and before it. And now we continue to have them on many of the issues in the SOS, commented Ivan Takov. – Never there was no question of participating in a coalition with them. We started talks with representatives of their political group on priorities that are consensual and common. We drew our red lines and made it clear that we have to have an understanding on them so that we can we work together in SOS. Three days later, in response, we received the dismemberment of the Monument to the Soviet Army. After that, we all know the story.”
Vanya Grigorova expressed concern about the manipulations that the Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, is doing in the public space. “We remember how in the first meetings of the SOS, he claimed that 77 million BGN were needed to save one European project financing for the Sofia Municipality. Later it turned out that it was not 77, but 32, and this could be done without decision of the SOS, as we explained to him all the time, she said. “We demand more transparency. We asked him for a report and documents to see what the financial and economic condition of the Metropolitan Municipality is. He did nothing. We do not stop working , although there is no chairman of the SOS. I have been trying for a long time to find the business plans of the transport companies in Sofia. It turns out that there are none, although they were supposed to be prepared and submitted to the Sofia Municipality back in October. In a month, I will have to to vote on the economic framework of transport. There is no way we can make proposals on it and vote since we don’t have any information. And Mr. Terziev has no problem appointing a deputy mayor for transport to answer our questions. For that he does not need the chairman of the SOS”.
