“In short, he fell straight off the stage. We all think he got something because the way he fell was without any movement of self-preservation – holding his hands a -out. I didn’t sleep all night thinking about what we could have. We were all around, but unfortunately it wasn’t close enough to keep it words, before the fall, Marichkov gave no indication that he was not feeling well and specified that he had gone over the issues of his instruments.
Kiril Marichkov died a few days before he turned 80 and celebrated his birthday with a concert. Lechev said his relatives will decide whether to hold the event.
“I still can’t assimilate it, we have to do something to celebrate this great man. There were several events like this last year, we talked that maybe it’s time, but it was he wanted to be on the stage. This is his life and calling. Unfortunately, he lost his life on the stage,” said Ivan Lechev.
“We have lost a part of us,” wrote the “Foundation” on his Facebook profile. “It happened before our eyes. It happened in a second. That’s why it’s hard to talk. It’s hard to forget. For 11 years we literally lived together. We toured the world with concerts. We laughed, we argued, we loved each other. . He is a friend.
