Iván Arias says that La Paz is a “champion in vaccination” and asks for more support from the Government

Mayor Iván Arias reproached the government for ignoring his suggestions to fight against Covid-19, he regretted the announcement of the Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza, that the country is already in the fourth wave and pgave economic support from the Executive to continue as the municipality “champion in vaccination.”

He recalled that he made several proposals to the Government: Control of the vaccination certificate in airports, land terminals, also the same requirement in public and private transactions, in addition to vaccination for young people aged 5 to 15 years, and expand vaccination for the third dose, however, he assured, Minister Auza did not consider any.

“We have made all these proposals like La Paz and Minister Auza looked at us and has left. And now the fourth wave is coming to announce us. How are we going to fight the fourth wave without taking specific measures, I am not saying that ours (proposals) are the best, but we have suggested, and there we are, simply regretting“Said the authority.

It complemented that “They have not given us a weight and I hope they reward us for being a municipality that he has done things well and they do not punish us, “said the mayor of La Paz, reported a bulletin from the Municipal Government of La Paz.

Minister Auza, in his epidemiological report for week 43, he reported that the fourth wave began controlled in the country as a result of sustained increase in cases in the departments of Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca and Cochabamba. He said that there are medicines and economic resources that amount to 157.8 million Bolivians, distributed to the nine governorates for the free care of the population.

“Thanks to the action we have done in La Paz, we are doing well, we are the city and the municipality champion in vaccination, but that is not enough, we are not going to be happy because our brothers die, that is inhumane, that is why we proposed things so that we all raise vaccination levels, ”said the mayor of La Paz.
