The President of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Revilla, has given the start this Sunday to the IV Trail Villa de Comillas, in which more than 500 people have participated in five different modalities: trail (25 km), speed trail (15 km), march on foot (20 km), individual route and family route (both 14 km).

The president highlighted the success of the participation of this initiative that started yesterday with the II Children’s Trail, a charity event whose objective is to raise funds for the NGO Save the Children and in which 170 children from all over Cantabria took part.

Revilla has congratulated the Comillas City Council and the Corremillas Mountain Club for organizing this sporting event for yet another year, which counts towards the Cantabria Cup (the trail modality) and runs through spaces of great cultural, artistic and natural value such as the Palacio de Sobrellano, Capricho de Gaud and Monte Corona.

The President was accompanied at the exit, located in the Sobrellano countryside, by the Minister of the Presidency, Paula Fernández Viaa, by the Minister of Rural Development, Guillermo Blanco, and by the Mayor of Comillas, María Teresa Noceda, in addition to other members of the local Corporation.

The mayoress stressed that it is a major sporting event that brings together a “large number of fans of this discipline”, at the same time that it is another tourist attraction, which contributes to deseasonalizing the municipality’s economy.
