IUD Mishap: Woman’s Boyfriend Accidentally Removes Birth Control During Sex

Stop the sex

“To protect myself against pregnancy, I had an IUD installed a few years ago. That was an extremely painful experience and I bled for three months afterwards. I would prefer never to do this again, but now I have to. The thing is, during sex my boyfriend accidentally pulled it out.

Some time ago I was on the last day of my period. And as always, I had a tampon in. When we had sex in the afternoon, I took out the tampon, but forgot to put a new one in. Although that evening I was convinced that I did have one. That evening my friend and I cooked and also added some red wine. That eventually turned into a sex party, until halfway through I told him to stop.”

Spiral

“I was sure I still had a tampon in, but my boyfriend hadn’t seen or felt anything. My first thought was that he had pushed the thing into my womb. I didn’t like a visit to the doctor to ask if they could see the tampon floating in my uterus. So I went looking myself, but I felt nothing. My friend said he could take a look. I said that it was a cotton thread, not iron wire.

All I could think at that moment was: get that thing out. At one point my friend felt something. He pulled it out, which hurt a little. There he was with my coil in his hand. We started laughing. I didn’t know you could pull it out so easily. The mood was off, so we just went to sleep.”
