IU and Podemos Córdoba demand that free passage through the public road of El Bañuelo be restored

The vice spokesperson of the municipal group of IU, Amparo Pernichi, together with the municipal spokesperson of Podemos Córdoba, Cristina Pedrajas, and the parliamentarian of Adelante Andalucía (United We Can for Andalusia) for Córdoba, Ana Naranjo (IU) have accompanied and supported the platform A Deslambrar in his protest route that has taken this Sunday April 11 and in which the mayor of the city, José María Bellido, and his government team have been urged to “restore the free passage through the public road of El Bañuelo“.

As explained by the platform, recently a new owner has acquired the El Bañuelo farm, in the heart of the Sierra de Córdoba, and has closed this public road, which is part of the municipal inventory, preventing the passage of walkers and cyclists. From the IU they have indicated that the local government “cannot look the other way” and that it must act “immediately” so that this public road, “which belongs to everyone,” is reopened, as well as the vast majority of the 62 roads that are in the Municipal Catalog and that require demarcation work, as IU started with five of them in the previous term.

Public roads, they have added from IU, are a “natural environmental heritage“of this city, so the councilor and the co-government must ensure its” conservation and denounce, if appropriate, the attacks that have been taking place against these roads, as has happened in El Bañuelo. “

And it is that, instead of going forward in the recovery of public roads, “what we are seeing is that we are going backwards”, so “we ask the different administrations to do their tasks”, according to their competences , and restore what belongs to everyone, especially in a pandemic situation, where we have provincial closures and where the saw can play a “fundamental” role with a view to sustainable tourism and in order for the citizens of Cordoba to know and enjoy its natural wealth and biodiversity “, they have considered since their training.

The objective of IU continues to be “to recover”, and “we will do it hand in hand with the environmental groups, to whom we thank the work that they carry out every day, all the usurped public roads in the city and in the province” of Córdoba. because “we are ready to defend the rights of the entire population to use them, against the private interests of a few,” they added.

Cristina Pedrajas has also participated in the protest route organized by A Desalambrar because “El Bañuelo is a public path, as demonstrated by all property documents over decades and hundreds of years, “he pointed out.

In fact, it appears included in the inventory, approved in 2016, with number 27 and is a copy of the previous inventory dating from 1884 where this path also appears.

Pedrajas has joined a group of environmentalists and hikers, “who fight so that the countryside can continue to be enjoyed without hindrance, especially in these times of pandemic in which so many people have become accustomed to doing other types of healthy activities walking around our surroundings. natural”. It is, in the words of the spokesperson for the purple formation, the “heritage that Córdoba has and that we have to disseminate, defend, make known, take care of and facilitate access so that everyone can come to enjoy it,” he explained.

In the previous term, the allegations presented, which had been kept in a drawer for a long time, were resolved and the catalog of public roads was approved, showing that this political force “bets on and defends what belongs to everyone”, IU pointed out.
