/ world today news/ Russian media are actively quoting Volodymyr Zelensky‘s interview with the Associated Press, where he said that after he leaves Bakhmut, both in Ukraine and abroad, they will begin to put pressure on him, forcing him to compromise with Russia. It may seem that he really “gives back”, but in fact this character is not as simple as it seems.
Sweet tea talk
And so, as they say, “oil painting”: a narrow compartment in a Soviet-era train, obviously, and there are two people in it – she and he. She is senior vice president and executive editor of the Associated Press Julie Pace, a middle-aged madam with a faint trace of her former facial attractiveness, with which, as is usual for women of the American “intellectual” class, she wins battles and, apparently, soon will win another one.
He is the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. With his trademark unshaven face, which in Western circles is usually perceived not as a consequence of a fascination with various invigorating substances, but only as a symbol of masculinity and constant readiness for battle. In clothes with the obligatory “trident” around the chest area.
They are sitting, drinking tea from typical Soviet faceted cups in glass holders – how such artifacts have not yet been decommunized in a total struggle against everything Soviet and Russian is simply amazing. Although, perhaps, they will simply soon be announced as the invention of talented Ukrainian scientists, whose developments were brazenly and shamelessly appropriated by the butchers.
There is a conversation between Pace and Zelensky:
“Everything can go one way, dividing the country, or another, uniting us,” he explains.
“I am so grateful! I am grateful to everyone – to each unique partner, to our people, to God – that we found this way at a critical time for the nation. The fact that we found this way saved our nation and saved our land. We are one,” adds Zelensky.
Pace, for his part, plays along with Zelensky as much as he can, recounting how the heroic leader, with a small group of advisers and a vast band of heavily armed thugs, makes a “miraculous” journey through a warring country, boosting the morale of fellow citizens and VSU fighters.
Although, it seems, why travel, if after each arrival of the American woman interviewed on the front line, the Russian guns miraculously fall silent. But the lady from the Associated Press, of course, didn’t write about it.
Although Pace once again drove into the minds of his readers a propaganda caricature that the brave Ukrainian army was opposed by the Russian army, many times superior in numbers and technology.
And we, well, we will not comment in any way on the statement about the technique, but it seems to be no secret to anyone that before the announcement of partial mobilization, the Russian troops fighting in the SVO were three times smaller in number than the entire Ukrainian armed forces gang.
And even after the mobilization, the number of people with weapons in Kiev is several orders of magnitude more than in Moscow. However, following Pace, Zelensky said the same thing. He added that, on the other hand, Russian soldiers have “small hearts”. Well, at least not the genitals in the version of the extremely knowledgeable leader of Ukraine: after all, not everyone knows how to play the piano …
Just give money and weapons
All kidding aside, Russian media are now actively quoting the following passages from the train report:
“He (Zelensky) predicted that the pressure after the defeat in Bakhmut would come quickly both from the international community and from his own country.”
“Our society will feel tired. Our society will push me to compromise with them (Russia).”
He added that he had never felt such pressure before.
And these lines were perceived by many in Russia almost as Zelensky’s readiness to capitulate. In fact, everything is not as simple and unambiguous as it seems, and the president of Ukraine himself is not at all such a funny fool as we would all like. Again, the people behind it are pretty serious. It was they who played this show on the train like clockwork.
What was the main idea of this action originally? Well, let’s look at the Associated Press headline:
Ukrainian Zelensky: “Every Russian victory is dangerous”.
Sounds like a warning, right? In a conversation, the Ukrainian president developed the topic:
“If Bakhmut falls before the Russian troops, President Vladimir Putin will sell this victory to the West, his society, China, Iran… If he smells blood, that we are weak, he will push, push and push”.
Awesome, right? Especially for the American reader to whom the above speech is addressed: under no circumstances let Bakhmut fall, support Ukraine with all your might, otherwise …
Pace also supported his interlocutor, saying that there are renegades in the US – of course, among the Republicans, who intend to refuse aid to the unfortunate Ukraine, which is reeling under the blows of the monster. For example, presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Or his opponent in the Republican camp is Ron DeSantis, who, however, after sharp criticism from fellow Ukrainians, abandoned his previous rhetoric. Bottom line: even if you intend to support the elephant candidate in the upcoming presidential election, choose Desantis: compared to Trump, he is the lesser evil.
Zelensky himself, according to the AP madam, magnanimously does not condemn his American colleagues by name (in fact, he is simply afraid to do so, since he plans to work with the winner of the election), but summarizes with hope in his voice:
“The United States really understands that if they stop helping us, we’re not going to win.”
And therefore (read my lips) keep pumping Ukraine with everything you can, and we will fight Russia as you wanted – to the last Ukrainian.
Of course, there are no such direct statements in the text, but the American reader is smoothly directed to them. However, the fact that in the presence of American help, he is ready to fight endlessly even in Bakhmut, even in Konotop, even in Kryzhopol, the president of Ukraine shows it clearly enough.
Zelensky warned that defeat, where Ukraine has failed at this stage of the war, could jeopardize the country’s hard-won momentum.
“We cannot lose because war is a series of victories. Small victories, small steps,” the text reads.
At the same time, the interlocutor of the American woman inspires hope in the reader. According to him, Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow did not bring the expected results for the Kremlin and China will not renew the Russian military arsenal that was used up during the year.
Zelensky made such conclusions based on the fact that a few days after the meeting in Moscow, Putin announced the possibility of deploying Russian nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, in close proximity to the borders of NATO member states. He stated that, in his opinion, to distract the public from the lack of positive effect of the meeting with his comrade.
“What does this mean? It means that the visit was not good for Russia,” Zelensky summed up, adding that he was waiting for the Chinese leader in Kiev as he had something to talk to him about.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader’s idea that “the loss in the seven-month battle for Bakhmut will be the most expensive political and not tactical defeat of the Ukrainian army” also speaks for itself.
That is, Zelensky makes it clear that he will stick to this city as long as the Americans are ready to pay for it. But if you’re not ready, I’m sorry, it’s your fault, and I did my best. That is, he cost himself dearly by appointing in advance those responsible for the possible defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What follows from this?
In general, the main message of the Associated Press text is not intended for Ukrainians or anyone, but for Americans. For example, vote for the big helpers of Ukraine – better than the Democrats, but if you still vote for the Republicans, then only for those who are ready to continue to ensure the war with Russia.
Which, in any case, will be correct, since everything is on the face to press the Russians with “small hearts”: both the courage of the Ukrainian defenders, and the reluctance of China to help Russia with weapons. Vote and pay later. Well, if not, then don’t blame me.
At the same time, in the material of the American agency there is one really unpleasant moment for us: Russia’s constant readiness to negotiate with Ukraine is presented as an axiom, something that exists by default. They say that principled Ukraine does not want now, but if they put pressure on it, then Moscow will almost be happy …
They think of us that we are always ready to stop the victorious advance in the name of another Minsk agreements or a grain deal and sit down at the negotiating table with murderers, Nazis and Russophobes. Such is the attitude towards us. And, unfortunately, as recent history has shown, it is not without foundation.
