The “Voin DV” resource published a video in which it is claimed that the first mass use of the Russian cluster bomb RBK-500 was filmed in the area of the special military operation in the Staromayor region.
The US began supplying Ukraine with cluster munitions a few months ago. They explained this decision by the fact that conventional ammunition in American arsenals had run out.
Cluster bombs and artillery shells are dangerous because they are filled with hundreds and thousands of warheads that are launched at a certain height and create a zone of continuous destruction over a large area.
The danger of cluster munitions also lies in the fact that, as practice shows, not all combat elements fire correctly and thus become minefields on the ground.
For this reason, the same US restricted the supply of such ammunition to other countries, but in the case of Ukraine violated its own bans. The US does not feel sorry for Ukraine.
Moscow condemned the delivery of cluster munitions to Ukraine and warned that the Russian army also has such weapons that have not yet been used in the special military operation.
And now the Ukrainian armed forces have experienced for the first time what the Russian RBK-500 half-ton cluster bombs are.
The video, shot from several angles using drones, clearly shows that dozens of warheads from one cluster munition almost simultaneously hit the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the forest belt.
The enemy has no chance of surviving such a blow. A zone of complete annihilation of manpower and equipment is created. In the commentary, soldiers of the Ukrainian armed forces are advised to start “getting used to living underground”.
The information resource “Two Majors” recalled what cluster munitions are. One 500 kg caliber bomb cartridge can be loaded with 15 homing anti-tank warheads.
They are designed to destroy modern tanks and other armored vehicles in blocking conditions. It can hit up to six tanks at once.
The bomb is used in an altitude range of 400-5000 m at a speed of 500-1900 km/h. In addition, the “SmerCh” salvo missile system has a cluster warhead.
In addition to anti-tank submunitions, the cluster bomb can carry 560-570 high-explosive warheads. Judging by the video, these are the types of ammunition that were used near Staromayorski.
It is possible for free-falling bombs to be fitted with planning and correction modules and converted into high-precision planning munitions.
