Italian journalist Tancred Palmieri spoke about the Italian leg of the Russian striker’s career Alexandra Kokorina.
Kokorin’s contract belongs to Fiorentina, in which the Russian passed over in January 2021 for 4.5 million euros from Spartak. Interestingly, during this time Alexander appeared on the field for the Italian club only 11 times. Not surprisingly, he has not been marked by effective actions.
Palmeri believes Kokorin is one of the worst Italian Serie A transfers in recent times:
“No one knew, but he played for them haha. Then the club sold Chiesa and Bernadeschi. He needed to buy a striker, and Fiorentina said: “Okay, it’s not expensive, let’s try to take a gamble.”
I can say for sure: Kokorin is one of the worst transfers in the history of Serie A in recent years. I don’t even have anything to say about him and his style of play, no one has seen him.”
This summer, the Russian, on a one-year lease, moved to the Cypriot Aris Limassol. As part of this club, he played ten matches in which he scored five goals and made two assists. His contract with Fiorentina expires in the summer of 2024.
