It’s the return of enhanced CCIA Dollars

The Argenteuil Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA) is launching a new CCIA Bonus Dollars campaign. As in recent years, the public will be able to obtain these gift certificates, worth $25 each, by paying only $20, starting November 4.

This will be the fifth CCIA Dollars campaign in the history of the local chamber of commerce. As in previous campaigns, people who would like to obtain these gift certificates will be able to do so by visiting the CCIA website (www.cciargenteuil.ca) or by contacting it by telephone (450-562-1947) as of November 4 or by going directly to its premises (136, avenue de la Providence, Lachute, suite 101), from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This year, the CCIA has doubled the number of gift certificates available compared to the last campaign in July 2023. In fact, 2,000 certificates of $25 each will be put into circulation by the CCIA. Please note: even though their value is $25 each, the public will be able to purchase them for only $20. This means that $5 is added free of charge to each certificate. A limit of 10 CCIA Dollars certificates per person is imposed, or $200 to obtain $250 in CCIA Dollars.

Remember that CCIA Dollars are gift certificates exchangeable throughout the year at Argenteuil merchants, regardless of whether they are members of the CCIA or not, as long as they are located in the MRC territory. However, these businesses must be independent or, in the case of large chains, managed by franchise owners. State companies (SAQ, SQDC) and corporate stores (Wal-Mart, Maxi) do not accept CCIA Dollars. The list of participating businesses is available at cciargenteuil.ca/ccia-dollars.

Merchants who receive these gift certificates as payment then simply have to be reimbursed by the CCIA by following the procedure written on the certificate.

$50,000 invested

Obviously, if a citizen pays $20 to obtain a gift certificate worth $25, the CCIA will have to dig into its pockets to pay the difference when the time comes to reimburse the merchants who received them. This year, Caisse Desjardins d’Argenteuil will act as a partner of the CCIA in this campaign with a contribution of $10,000 from its Community Development Fund.

“The CCIA Dollars campaign has proven itself over the last few years,” declared Valérie Lamarre, president of Caisse d’Argenteuil. These certificates have been greatly appreciated in the region and support the economic development of our community. Caisse Desjardins d’Argenteuil is particularly proud to be associated for the first time with the enhanced CCIA Dollars program. »

In total, $50,000 will be reinvested in the community thanks to the 2,000 CCIA Dollars gift certificates which will be put into circulation on November 4, just in time for the end-of-year holidays.

“It is with pride that we invite the population to benefit from this great opportunity,” added Nathalie Malo, president of the CCIA. For the holidays, it is important to encourage our local merchants, it is a vital period for some of them. This campaign benefits both consumers and merchants but also our living environment. When you have a dynamic living environment, with businesses that offer things different from what you can find on the Internet, it is worth making the effort to consume locally. »

Since the first CCIA Dollars campaign was held in 2020, nearly $264,000 has been spent in the region thanks to these gift certificates. According to officials, the public will have to act quickly on November 4 to obtain these new CCIA Dollars since they go very quickly, based on the experience experienced during previous campaigns.

Furthermore, the CCIA announces the holding of a competition on Facebook, from November 25 to December 13, with $500 in CCIA Dollars to be won. Details will be announced online soon.
