Holidays at the sea will be up to 35% more expensive this summer season compared to last summer. This shows a check on the Black Sea coast, made by bTV.
Stay “all inclusive” in a 4-star hotel in the Black Sea resorts such as Sozopol i Primorsko already costs BGN 120 per person per day against BGN 90 last year.
The night in a 3-star hotel is now between 50-70 BGN per person per day against 40 BGN from last season.
Here are the prices in the restaurants:
- Salads are about BGN 10 against BGN 7 from last summer;
- The portion of sprat rises in price from BGN 6-6.50 to a minimum of BGN 7;
- The portion of french fries jumps by BGN 1.50 from BGN 5 last year to BGN 6.50 now;
- Small draft beer is now BGN 3.50 against BGN 2 last year.
Most hoteliers are waiting for the beginning of June to open. Early bookings are at much lower prices, and inflation is eating away at profits.

“There is no supplier who has not come and not increased prices by 40-50%. It’s scarywe are extremely worried about what prices we give, what discounts we give “, said the manager of a hotel in Primorsko Zlatina Vladeva.
In this hotel the rent for an apartment for four people is BGN 250 per night. The increase is about BGN 10 per person compared to last year.
“If last year in the interim period it was BGN 90 per person per day” all inclusive “package, this year it is BGN 120 per person per day,” added Zlatina Vladeva.
On average, lunch costs about BGN 30 per person. The menu at this summer restaurant begins with the clarification that the prices are temporary. The reason is that suppliers change the value of products every day.
The smaller restaurants on the beach offer a lunch menu with cooked dishes such as stuffed peppers, wine kebabs, chicken with rice.
“The price is standard – BGN 6.50 is one lunch. One soup is between BGN 3.50 – BGN 4.50. Relatively low prices, we still comply, we can’t take people’s souls out,” explained the manager of a beach restaurant. in Sozopol Silvia Hristova.
In the menu, however, the salad starts at BGN 10, squid is BGN 15, a portion of horse mackerel is BGN 18 and everything has higher prices. Sprat is also more expensive.
“Last summer it was BGN 6.60, now it is BGN 6.90, we have raised very little and it is not so much because of the fish, but because of the price of the oil, we buy oil at BGN 6,” added Silvia Hristova.
Thus, a standard dinner with drinks costs about BGN 50 per person.
