The company announced this surprisingly on Tuesday.

It is true that the e-cars will continue to roll on Leipzig’s streets in the future, but then as part of the new “Flexa” service, which Clevershuttle loudly “image“operates on behalf of on behalf of the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe.

Eight such services have already been implemented across Germany, and four more are to follow in February 2022 – including Leipzig.

According to “Bild”, Clevershuttle was launched in 2016 in the trade fair city and celebrated its first successes here.

“In total, over a million passengers used the service,” said the company.

The company initially expanded from Leipzig. In the meantime, however, Clevershuttle had to withdraw from almost all of its cities. Operations in Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Dresden ceased in 2019, followed by Berlin, Frankfurt and Kiel in 2020.

The company is now only represented in Leipzig and Düsseldorf. In the city on the Rhine, a continuation of operations is currently being examined.

In Leipzig, the corona crisis in particular led to the decision to reorient. The number of passengers fell by up to 70 percent.

New solutions are now to be found for the approximately 170 employees at the site, some of them will continue to be employed without any changes.
