“It’s not like a school and we have everything available: train, tram, shops…”: students returning to school at Iconic in Nice

An amazing start to the school, this Monday, September 23, in one of the most unusual buildings on the Côte d’Azur and even in France.

Iconic, the blue diamond pointing its arrow at the corner of avenues Thiers and Jean-Médecin, its first students arrived: 120 at 3e ground floor of the building, under the Aurlom BTS + sign and slightly at the other end of the building – station side – between the ground floor and 1Yes floor, in the building of the Skills and Development network bringing together Idrac Business School, Sup de Com, Ileri.

“Before this we were in Sophia Antipolis, recalls Eric Anton, director of Idrac Business School. We left Sophia to open a campus in Grasse for the western part of the region and a second one, in Iconic, for the eastern part. Compétences et Développement had wanted to set up in Nice for a long time, without success. The 3 schools will admit 556 students within a few weeks.”

“Create a true collaboration”

Aurlom will have more of them, which expects 500 for January and 1,000 for the start of the 2025 school year. “This French group, which delivers 4,000 BTS per year nationally, had to have a base in Nice”explains Benjamin Lecoubi. This co-consultant from Nice, close to the group’s director, Franck Attelan, was responsible for recruitment and registration management. “That’s Niçois, Grassois and others who are starting to complete 5 training courses such as BTS international trade, tourism, real estate, digital negotiation of customer relations, active commercial administration. Some of “students are young graduates, others in professional retraining.”

What are they looking for at Aurlom? “Support, human-level guidance.”

They are between 18 and 21 years old and there are no more than 25 in each class. At the heart of this ultra-modern environment, painted in purple, yellow and white, young people benefit from the living teachings of an active life. And sometimes she only has 2 levels to go through.

Alexandra, 19, spent a year at IUT. She is enjoying her new journey: “It’s the beginning of an adventure. I wanted to take BTS MCO and I found a work study program at the Monop’ downstairs. It’s wonderful to be doing it here. I know the community forever, but this building has completely changed.”

An iconic educational version, it is indeed also for Aurlom, a partnership with Five Guys, Eric Kayser, the Hotel Double Tree by Hilton Nice … “This will allow us to create a true collaboration, an economycheering on Benjamin Lecoubi.

“It’s not like school”

Cassandra, 19, had an interview to register first. His profile immediately matched those sought after by another Iconic brand, Starbucks.

The young Grassoise talks about her reorientation: “I was an economics major at the law faculty. I am here in BTS MCO to do marketing degree later and I have some experience in catering. I had the opportunity to alternate between school and work, 2 days at Aurlom, 3 days in business at Starbucks. It is very fresh, beautiful, bright.
