The movie Recovery Point received incredible attention. After several years, real science fiction was created in the Czech Republic, which was able to visually compete with foreign productions several times more expensive. In the film, several Prague buildings appeared in a futuristic form, as well as one that was never created. Unique prototypes of old Škodas also got a place there. A digital backup of the personality is also seen in the film. “We didn’t have a detailed idea of how it would work, but we were based on theoretical works that allowed us to create this technology. We just gave them a visual form and implemented them,” said Hloz .
The advanced technology in the film is also reflected in its futuristic scenes. According to sociologist Ondřej Lipenský, filming was a dynamic process and “something between suffering and fun”. The Point of Renovation shows several buildings in Prague transformed in a sci-fi style. For example, OC Kotva, the Main Telecommunications Building, which is now demolished, but also the National Library on Letná which was not completed by the architect Jan Kaplický, was introduced to the audience.
