It’s Not Clear, It Turns Out That 100% Tax Discounts Are Not Appropriate in the Field!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The government has officially continued the relaxation of the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) for new cars by 100% until August. The policy was issued last Sunday, revising the previous decision, namely the relaxation of PPnBM by only 50% starting June 1.

However, it turns out that in the field, such as dealers, they have not followed the sudden policy of the Government. This policy did come out almost two weeks after the month of June.

“Yesterday there was information from the government that 100% PPnBM until May was extended until August, but the head office of Daihatsu has not issued an official decision,” said one of the sales dealers at Daihatsu in South Jakarta who did not want to be named, Wednesday (16/6/21). ).

This means, if the prospective buyer will take the unit at this time, it will follow the 50% PPnBM relaxation price or the provisions before the revision. But don’t worry, buyers will get the same discount as the 100% PPnBM relaxation price in the future.

“So if the process is now taking 50% PPnBM first. After the final decision is out there will be a refund for the extra payment, from the 50% PPnBM, the difference is from 100% to 50%, for example for Rocky Rp. 8-9 million. So after the payment is complete, we use it PPnBM 50 percent first, after the jutlak has been issued, the Rp 8 million-Rp 9 million will be transferred to the account,” he explained.

The revision of the PPnBM policy has made the Brand Holder Sole Agent (ATPM) again improve in preparing its provisions, including its implementation instructions in the field.

In the initial PPnBM relaxation scheme, changes to tax cuts are applied every three months, namely March-May 100% discount, July-August 50%, and October-December 25%. Along with the development of the implementation of the policy, the performance of the automotive industry and car sales in the country showed a positive trend.

“The government will indeed conduct a three-month evaluation to see the impact of the PPnBM DTP discount for the purchase of a new car,” said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang.

He proposed an extension of PPnBM incentives and was approved by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indarwati at the National Economic Recovery (PEN) meeting chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto last Friday (11/6/21).
