According to the latest newsletter from Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist specializing in Apple news, the Apple firm is preparing to introduce a new iPad Pro equipped with an M2 chip, between September and November.
At the beginning of March, the “Peek Performance” conference was an opportunity for Apple to present a whole new generation… of iPad Air, powered by the powerful M1 chip. However, we had not seen the slightest trace of a new iPad Pro. For that, it would obviously still be necessary to show a little patience.
Because according to Mark Gurman’s must-have weekly newsletter (via The Verge), the firm from across the Atlantic would have in mind a very particular window of opportunity for the launch of an iPad Pro 2022: between September and November. Suffice to say that his traditional conference in September will be scrutinized very closely.
Better compartmentalize the range
Indeed, Apple could choose this meeting to officially introduce its device, alongside the new generation iPhones. And still according to the journalist of Bloomberg, the group could strike a blow by equipping its next iPad Pro with an ever faster M2 chip. Which corroborates here a report of 9to5Mac.
In the idea, it can make sense. Because an iPad Pro equipped with an M2 would definitely stand out from the iPad Air recently added to the catalog, and whose M1 chip is on the same footing as the current iPad Pro. We wondered how much the 11-inch iPad Pro was too much.
By adding an M2 chip to the iPad Pro, Apple would redesign its range in a more marked way. And above all, it would probably put yet another blow in the neck to the competition in terms of performance, by always offering more power to its devices.
The next iPad Pro could also accommodate MagSafe charging, again according to Mark Gurman. As a reminder, the last update of this tablet dates from April 2021: at the time, it had clearly borrowed the design of its predecessor (2020 model).
Towards a small aesthetic evolution?
Rumors also suggest some aesthetic changes to come, such as the arrival of an all-glass back. But this supposition has been refuted: only the Apple logo could taste this material, in a set made of aluminum as is the case today.
All you have to do now is wait until the second half of 2022 to confirm all of these predictions.
