Written by Sally Abadi
I remember well the first morning of our separation,
The sun, as usual, covered my room and touched my hair with love.
And the bird perched on my window and chirped the melodies of spring
The cake seller, his voice used to dictate the neighborhood and awaken the hungry from a deep slumber.
The children were racing to buy fresh bread from the ovens.
passers-by crowding the streets to buy their necessities,
And as you can see, my dear,
Things around me went on as usual.
everything remained perfectly the same,
Except.. me, my heart, and everything in me.
The only ones who turned to our situation,
No one ever looked at us…
The newspapers did not mourn the death of our love, and the channels did not lament its demise.
Our favorite restaurant was not closed, nor were the roads that witnessed our love destroyed.
Even our favorite song didn’t turn into a sad lament.
to imagine..!
The only thing is that the world did not regret our end.
While we’ve been alone ever since we regret,
Simply.. like this..
