Ex-President of Inter Milan Massimo Moratti mention AS Roma as one of the candidates to win the Italian League. He believes in coaches like Jose Mourinho won’t just aim for the top.
Mourinho returns to Italy by managing AS Roma from the 2021/2022 season. So far, the start of the Portuguese coach is still perfect.
Mourinho led Roma to win the first two games at Italian League 2021/2022 by beating Fiorentina and Salernitana. Overall, And Lupi recorded four wins in four matches in all competitions played so far.
Regarding Roma’s position in the Scudetto competition map, Jose Mourinho once implied that his team was not the favourite.
“That is a question for (Simone) Inzaghi, not me,” Mourinho said when asked about the Scudetto race after Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus.
However, Moratti believes Jose Mourino secretly aiming for the scudetto with Roma. Mourinho is not called the type of coach who ‘only’ will target the top three.
“I follow the championship with great care,” Moratti told Radio Kiss Kiss as reported Football Italia.
“Mourinho stirred up competition, he started really well.”
“Serie A has one more team, Roma, who will target the Scudetto. Someone like Mourinho wouldn’t target third place. Jose would never say that, but he’s there,” he said.
Jose Mourinho has two Italian League titles, which he won in 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 while dealing with Inter Milan.
