Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Sun will published earlier in mid-November so that it has been visible on the horizon since 5 am.
This was stated by Researcher of the Center for Science and Space of the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN), Andi Princeg. He said the phenomenon would take place from November 13 to 18.
“Starting from November 13-18, the sun will rise faster if observed from Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara,” he told CNNIndonesia.com, Thursday (11/11).
According to Andi, this phenomenon commonly occurs every year with approximately the same sunrise time and date.
“There is no need to panic about this because this phenomenon is a natural phenomenon that is common every year,” he explained.
Meanwhile, two more months from January 25 to 31, 2022, the sun will set earlier for Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara.
Andi also revealed that the sunrise time is faster for the Java, Bali, NTB areas as follows.

Andi also said that not only the islands of Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara could experience an early sunrise in mid-November, but also in several cities in other provinces.
Among them are Maluku and Papua as follows:
– Saumlaki (Kab. Kep. Tanimbar, 15 November at 05.44.47 WIT),
– Kaliwatu (Southwest Maluku District, November 15 at 05.58.32 WIT),

– Tanah Merah (Regency of Boven Digoel, 13 November at 05.11.15 WIT) and
– Merauke (16 November at 05.07.51 WIT).
The reason the sun rises early
Andi explained that the Sun will rise earlier because the Earth rotates about its axis with an inclination of 66.6 degrees to the orbital plane or the ecliptic. Simultaneously, the Earth also revolves around the Sun with the tilted axis of rotation.
“The tilt of the Earth’s axis of rotation around the Sun can cause the sunrise and sunset times to vary throughout the year, either faster or slower,” said Andi.
When the axis of rotation in Earth’s northern hemisphere and Earth’s north pole is tilted toward the Sun, the Sun will rise faster and set slower in the northern hemisphere. This occurs during the June Solstice, which is when the Sun is at its northernmost at noon. This usually happens on the 20th or 21st of June every year.
Meanwhile, the axis of rotation in the Earth’s southern hemisphere and the Earth’s south pole is tilted away from the Sun. Thus, the sun will rise later and set faster in the southern hemisphere. This occurs during the December Solstice, which is when the Sun is at its southernmost at noon which occurs every December 21 or 22 every year.
