The same scenario will now happen in Luleå.
The national team forward has long been ready for a return to HV71.
– I think I handled it well. It has been a good season for me. In terms of points, I delivered until the turn of the year. Since then it has gotten a little heavier. But the game has still been okay, says Brännström, who is however dissatisfied with the ending.
– My end game. It’s not good. I’m disappointed with how I finish. It sucks, he says.
Isac Brännström is now ending his time in Luleå. Maybe he can spice up the fine season with games in Tre Kronor and try to get all the way to the WC.
– I have not heard anything. We’ll see what happens, he says.
In any case, it is clear that he will play for HV71 next season.
Engsund leaves Luleå for the parent club
Another who chooses to move home to Småland is Oscar Engsund.
After seven seasons in Luleå, where he developed into one of the league’s best defensive backs, new adventures await. Or brand new.
He will play for the parent club Oskarshamn and has agreed to a six-year contract.
– We have built something over time in Luleå. Since I came in, we have climbed and challenged every year, says Engsund.
How do you see the future now for Luleå?
– I am completely convinced that it will continue in the future.
Oscar Engsund is proud of how they battled to the end towards the series victories.
– We have sacrificed for each other and everyone has played for each other. We found something that worked well for us. You get to feel on the flight back to Luleå that you have a little pain here and there, says Engsund.
