Chelsea is facing an unusual situation. The club has far too many players under contract and images of the club’s gym, literally overcrowded, are causing a stir on social media.
Chelsea can’t take it anymore. The Blues have signed about ten players, 9 to be precise, also recovering a series of talents who had left on loan last year (12 in total, including a certain Romelu Lukaku). Result: there are now 43 players under contract in the first team. That’s a lot. Too many, even, according to the coach, Enzo Maresca, who makes no secret of it.
