ITN with a revolutionary idea about taxes. It surprised everyone – 2024-10-19 15:52:00

A revolutionary idea for taxes was presented by ITN. It is not related to an increase, but to a reduction of the most important taxes in our country. This is how the EU will cover the hole of 18 billion BGN in the budget for 2025, explained Pavela Mitova, leader of the ITN list in the 23rd district in Sofia and in Blagoevgrad, in the program “Offensive with Lyubomir Ognyanov”.

“The financial policy of our country must be turned from extravagance to thrift,” said Mitova, who shares the finance minister’s concerns regarding the expected deficit.

“If we look at the consolidated budget for this year, we should finish it with 72 billion in revenue, and next year – with 77.78 billion. This means that once again we need to save about 2-3 billion in capital expenditure so that we enter the Maastricht criterion of 3%. This means that next year’s expenses will be approximately 96 billion, and that is if we accept the estimates of the 18 billion deficit. It is high time to tell ourselves that we have a serious problem”, said Mitova.

She is categorically against raising taxes, rather she thinks they should be reduced.

“The flat tax, for example, at 9%, in order to have greater collection. We must aim for a zero deficit in 25 years and financial surpluses in the years to come. There should be a reform of the administration and a reduction of 20% of the administration, starting with the vacant staff numbers. The large investments should be given a concession so that in a period of 4 years a government can save approximately 30 billion”, said Mitova.

She also commented on the PVU and the tension in the “Energy” sector.

“We have absorbed 6% of the money under PVU in 3 years. If we imagine that in the next 1 year we will be able to absorb 94%, we are wrong. In the “Energy” sector, we have more than once voiced our criticism and disagreement with the set parameters, because Bulgaria has long exceeded the parameters of the Green Deal,” she commented.

“The transition must be smooth and fair for the entire energy sector. At the moment it is neither smooth nor fair. No emphasis is placed on new technologies such as carbon capture and gasification of TPP-2. The RDP money was not put in to create new base capabilities, not to eliminate the ones we have. When talking about an energy strategy, one must think in the long term,” Mitova said.

According to her, ITN plans to renegotiate the Green Deal.
