ITN returns the unfulfilled third mandate, which means that we are going to new elections.
This was announced by the leader of the party, Slavi Trifonov, on his Facebook profile.
“You all saw what happened in the last week. It literally happened before your eyes. The President handed over the third exploratory mandate to ITN, and we fully openly and responsibly tried to fulfill it.
Before you, we met with all political parties and independent deputies in the 50th National Assembly. From the conversations held, it became clear that between us and five political entities – the independent MPs around Nikolay Markov, the independent MPs from DPS around Jevdet Chakarov, BSP, PP-DB and GERB there is a complete coincidence of priorities, tasks, goals and methods of their implementation.
However, despite the lack of differences, despite the constant talk of all of them about responsibility, statesmanship and awareness of the simple fact that it is better to have a regular cabinet, and not for the country to go to another early election, nevertheless – two of these political structures refused to support us. Given that we have no differences, this action seems completely stupid and irresponsible. And so it is – stupid and irresponsible.
These political entities are PP-DB and GERB. PP-DB hid behind their governing bodies and refused to give a clear answer. Why? Probably because of the political myopia of one partner in their coalition, which continues to be experienced as self-sufficient. And GERB, despite the wisdom and practicality of the experts in this party, was not able to escape from the addictions of Boyko Borisov.
Let me remind you that the only parliamentary group that wanted immediate elections was the DPS group led by Delyan Peevski. Well, Boyko Borisov fulfilled the wish of Delyan Peevski and sent the country to another early election. I am sure he will take full political responsibility for this.
Therefore, we from “There is such a people” tomorrow, August 5th, Monday, will return the third term of the president. I am sure that the Bulgarian voter is wise and will do the right thing in the upcoming elections,” wrote Trifonov.
