We are waiting for your comments, criticism and ideas to improve the site!
So the very moment has come that our entire editorial staff has been waiting for the whole last year, and, frankly, they are now very worried about this. Today we are rolling out a new website design and a new logo. And that’s not all the news.
We are returning to the roots. ITC = IT Community
But first things first. ITC.ua has long gone beyond a news publication about technology and hardware, and today it is a real community that is visited daily by hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians with common interests. People come to the site not only for news, but also for communication. It was this concept that we took as the basis for the development of a new design, logo and further development of the site.
Everything that I am writing now was conceived even before the war, but Russia’s attack on our country has shifted plans, and we are only now returning to the implementation of old ideas.
A small spoiler: ITC = IT Community was not invented by me, but by the founder of the resource Sergey Arabadzhi back in the 90s. This is how the name was originally deciphered. So we kind of go back to basics 🙂
The task of the new logo is to take the image of the site out of the “zero”, make it more modern and create an association with the community – a community of like-minded people.
Some details about the font and colors of the logo
The main idea was not to use hackneyed pictograms, as was fashionable 20 years ago, and to make a more accurate logo. The emphasis was made on the letter C, inside of which a tail appeared – it symbolizes the message icon in the correspondence. We used Avant Garde as a font, thanks to which the first two letters – IT – look compact, and C – Community – wider, with an emphasis on the tail, which I wrote about above. And our designer decided to abandon the slanted letters and preferred simpler, evenly standing characters to them 🙂
We also slightly updated the blue color – made it more saturated and bright.
New design and plans for the future
As for the design, everything is much simpler. We left the structure of the site in its current form, made it more accurate and structured. In fact, the redesign is a fresher color scheme and a more modern style. Among the significant innovations, we decided to single out different formats of materials so that articles and reviews, on which authors sometimes spend several days of time, do not merge with the news and it would be easier for you, the readers, to determine what type of article is in front of you.

We will be grateful for your comments on the current design, and we will also be happy to fix the bugs you find and discuss suggestions for further development of the site.
