Itapúa received the certification seal as a safe tourist destination in the country

The Department of Itapúa received the Safe Travels Seal from the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur), thus becoming the first tourist destination to receive international certification in Paraguay.

To access this important accreditation, each of the establishments in the area passed and passed demanding biosafety standards evaluation processes.

This accreditation has a fundamental objective to generate confidence in the visitor so that they arrive safely at these charming tourist destinations offered by the seventh department.

IMPACT. It should be noted that this global seal that operates around the world for governments and companies, provides security to the traveler and in that sense the Safe Travels Seal, makes the VII Department the first “Safe Tourist Destination” in the national territory.

The ceremony of recognition as a safe tourist destination was held at the government headquarters and was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Sofía Montiel, the governor of Itapúa Juan Schmalko and other authorities as well as representatives of the private sector.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN? The Safe Travels Seal, which Paraguay received in 2020, is awarded by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), for compliance with health protocols.

It is the first global seal of safety and hygiene for Travel and Tourism, specifically designed to address the global situation in the face of Covid-19.

In this sense, the Itapúa destination has satisfactorily complied with all the requirements, mainly in terms of compliance with the biosafety protocols in each of the tourist establishments in the area.

“This distinction that we successfully received today, only reaffirms our commitment to the permanent search for the quality of the destination, and to the joint work to promote the safety of our inhabitants and visitors so that Itapúa continues to be a department of reference in tourism in our country and surroundings ”, Governor Schmalko highlighted on the occasion.

For her part, the Minister of Tourism Sofía Montiel congratulated the Governor of Itapúa for the extraordinary work carried out in favor of strengthening tourism in the region, which made this achievement possible.

MORE RECOGNITION. As part of her visit to the department of Itapúa, the Minister of Tourism also delivered the Safe Travels Seal to the Hotel Savoy in Encarnación, after complying with the health safety requirements established by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

This hotel establishment offers visitors various options for the winter holidays, and by presenting the anti-Covid vaccination card, those interested can obtain a 30% discount to enjoy the place.
