Italy’s Superbonus 110%: A Game-Changer in Energy Efficiency and Economic Growth

Italy has experienced a real revolution in the energy efficiency sector, thanks to incentives such as the Superbonus 110%. This program, in particular, has generated significant impact on the economy and environment, catalyzing investment and innovation across the country.

As of October 31, 2023, the numbers speak for themselves: 438,137 sworn statements submittedwith investments eligible for deduction that are around the impressive ones 93.8 billion euros.

Of these, investments in condominiums represent a considerable share: 84,757 sworn statements for a total of 54.5 billion eurosequal to 58.5% of the total value.

These numbers demonstrate a growing trend toward energy retrofitting of multi-unit buildings, a strategic move to improve energy efficiency on a large scale.

At the same time, the single-family buildings they were no exception. With 237,925 sworn statements and investments for 27.9 billion euros, equal to 29.4% of the total, this area shows a strong commitment from citizens in adopting sustainable solutions for their homes. This aspect is fundamental to understand how energy efficiency has become a priority also at an individual level.

Investments for works in independent real estate units they attest to 115,448 sworn statementswith an investment of 11.4 billion eurosrepresenting 12.1% of the total.

This highlights a balanced distribution of investments across different property types, underlining the wide reach and acceptance of the 110% Superbonus among Italian citizens.

The deductions relating to work already completed amount to 76.6 billion eurosa figure that demonstrates not only the effectiveness of the program in terms of incentives, but also its potential for economic stimulus.

This aspect is particularly relevant in a period in which Italy, like the rest of the world, is recovering from the effects of the global pandemic.

The regional distribution of ENEA’s certifications reflects widespread interest throughout the national territory for the 110% Superbonus. Regions such as Lombardy, Veneto and Lazio have shown a particular propensity towards these incentives, with a significant number of projects approved and financed.

This not only promotes a uniform reduction of CO2 emissions at a national level, but also contributes to an improvement in the quality of life in different regions.
