Italy wins 65th International Eurovision Song Contest – Music – Apollo.lv – Entertainment

In the overall ranking of the jury and the audience, Italy was in first place (524 points), France in second place (499 points) and Switzerland in third place (432 points).

The Latvian jury, consisting of Magnuss Eriņš, Valters Pūce, Patrisha, Kaspars Zemītis and Guna Zučika, gave the maximum – 12 points – to Switzerland.

Bookmakers predicted that the representatives of Italy – “Måneskin” with the song “Zitti E Buoni” – will win the Eurovision Song Contest this year. This year’s favorites included Malta (Destinia with “Je Me Casse”), France (Barbara Pravie with “Voilà”) and Switzerland (“Gjon’s Tears” with “Tout l’Univers”).

As known, Latvian representative Samanta Tina with the song “The Moon is Rising” did not enter the finals. This is the fourth year in a row that Latvia has not overcome the Eurovision semi-final barrier.

This year, 26 countries competed for the victory – the Netherlands, Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Portugal, Iceland, San Marino, Switzerland, Greece, Finland, Norway, Israel, Russia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Lithuania, Cyprus, Sweden, Belgium, Ukraine, as well as the so – called “big five” – ​​France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
