Italy’s foreign ministry on Monday warned its citizens against traveling to Ukraine amid rising Russian shelling, and urged Italians in Ukraine to return home.

The Italian Foreign Ministry notes that more and more powerful rocket attacks continue to be recorded in Kyiv and throughout Ukraine, and advises fellow citizens to be as careful as possible and follow the updates and instructions from local authorities.
“Any travel to Ukraine, for any reason, is strongly discouraged. Compatriots who are still in Ukraine are strongly advised to use available means, including trains, to leave the country during hours when the curfew is not in effect,” the message says.
The Italian Foreign Ministry clarifies that in the case of business trips to Ukraine, the responsibility for safety lies with the employer.
In recent weeks, Russia has increased the number of rocket attacks, as well as drone launches on the territory of Ukraine, which have not been seen since the beginning of March.
As a result of the latest attack on Kyiv, destruction was recorded in several districts of the capital, five people were hospitalized with injuries. In addition, Russian strategic aviation attacked the Odessa region with Kh-22 missiles, and fires broke out in the region.
